Debt service / tax revenues (DS/ TR)

DS/TR measures the burden of the debt service in relation to the country’s tax revenues. It highlughts the extent to which debt service hampers debtor countries in the use of their financial resources.

Debt service / education budget (DS/ EB)

DS/EB measures the burden of the debt service in relation to the country’s education budget every year. It shows to what extent debt service prevents spending on education.

Debt Service / Healthcare Budget (DS/ HB)

DS/HB meesures the burden of the debt service in relation to the country’s expenditure in healthcare. It shows to what extent debt service can prevent health expenditure.

Debt service / total public service salaries (DS/WS)

DS/WS measures the debt service burden in relation to the country’s public service salaries. It shows to what extent the debt service results in civil servants’ redundancies.

Debt service / net official development aid (DS/ ODA)

The main interest of such an indicator lies in observing proportionality between debt service and aid; the "critical" value is thus 1 and shows whether the flow of debt servicing is greater than the flow of aid, and to what extent...

Debt service / capital expenditure (DS/CE)

DS/CE measures the burden of the debt service in relation to public investment. It shows to what extent debt service prevents capital expenditure.

Debt service per inhabitant (DS/POP)

The Debt Service per inhabitant measures the amount paid each year to service the debt for each inhabitant; it is thus a good indicator of its "social burden".
